    Two quick thoughts on these twin articles and accompanying video:
    1) Just to clarify, I think they’re talking about the value of trades, as the charts indicate — and not value of orders, as the articles and video mostly discuss.
    2) There’s no question that average trade size has declined over recent years, but if you’re going to compare the value of trades today versus the past, you also need to take into account the fact that stock prices also have declined during that period, which would account for at least part of the smaller average trade value. — RP
