Newport Mining (NYSE: NEM) reported better-than-estimated fourth quarter earnings today, and also announced a 10% increase in their budget for 2010, with a 40% increase for Advanced Development projects. Shares are up 4.04% today, and are bolstering the ETF nicely.
• SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) up 0.12% to $107.52. Futures are trading relatively flat as Fed Chair Ben Bernanke is making further statements today that the interest rates should remain low.
